And Now for Something Completely Offensive

Filed under: Politics — Kelly @ 2:37 pm

In case you don’t get this:

Watch this…

And this…

And this…

And this:

And this…

The mainstream media is trying to characterize the New Yorker cover as a parody of the Obamas. Nothing could be further from the truth.  It’s a parody of the right wing portrayal of Obama. Everything about the picture is actually reflecting real life stories presented about Obama. The flag burning in the fire place recalls the" Obama doesn’t wear a flag pin" and "Obama didn’t cover his heart for the Pledge of Allegiance" stories,  the Obamas are engaged in the  "terrorist fist bump", the Muslim attire points to the erroneous report that" Obama was raised a Muslim" etcetera and so on.  Fox News has been reporting these things as actual news for months! Where’s the outrage over that?  In fact often times the networks have  picked up and carried the same stories! It even went to the extent that one Fox News analyst joked about "if only" Obama were assassinated! Now that’s offensive. What makes the "real news" stories so much more offensive than the parody is that the "real news" stories were actually trying to be taken as "real news."

How about before everyone starts dismissing the cover as "over the top" and "offensive" they  start spending a little time pondering why they made it so. You can’t judge a magazine by its cover you know.
